Alfather
Run local agents that know you well, on your own machine, without exposing yourself to the internet.
Why
The more an assistant knows about you, the more you want it off the internet. Alfather is for running agents that know as much about you as possible, on your own machine. It is also built so you can check where an answer came from. Every reply links the notes it used, and what it remembers about you can be corrected or forgotten.
What it does
Write or speak notes and todos on your Mac or iPhone. They are saved offline and sync to the hub when you are back. Ask it to summarise, or to answer a question from your notes, todos and PDFs, and it replies with links to what it read. It can propose a todo, which you confirm. You can steer a task, cancel it, and edit the documents that tell the agent how to behave.
- 01Answers from your own notes, todos and PDFs
- 02Links the exact notes it used
- 03Runs a local model on your own Mac mini
- 04Memory you can correct or forget
“Every answer links the notes it came from.”
Under the hood
The hub is a Mac mini. It stores everything encrypted and runs the model on the machine itself (Qwen3, on Apple silicon). Nothing goes to a cloud model. A cloud option is in the spec but not built.
Where it is at
The specification is written and an early build runs on the Mac mini. The iPhone app runs in the simulator only and cannot reach the hub from outside the house yet. Browser, coding and computer-control tasks are specified but not built, and none of it has had an independent review.
