Shop
Know what your groceries cost and where to buy them cheaper. Photograph a receipt and Shop reads it on your own server.

Why
You keep the receipt, never look at it again, and trust the total at the bottom. Shop is for seeing the trend: what you spend, what got more expensive, and where it is cheapest to buy. It also keeps a list of what you need to buy.
What it does
Take a photo. The app sends it to your server, which reads the text and rebuilds the lines with fixed rules. No AI. It adds the lines up and compares the sum with the printed total. If they match, it carries on. If they do not, the receipt is marked needs review and you fix it before it counts.
Once you confirm a receipt, its products and prices go into your history, and your shopping list can tick things off.
- 01Reads Dutch supermarket receipts on your own server
- 02Adds up the lines and checks them against the printed total
- 03Flags receipts that do not add up
- 04Keeps your price history in your own database
“20,15 became 20015. The total caught it.”
Under the hood
The text reader once turned 20,15 into 20015. The total check caught it. Shop only repairs a number like that if the lines then add up exactly to the printed total.
Everything stays on your server. Two optional lookups go out: Open Food Facts for barcodes and logo.dev for shop logos.
Where it is at
Version 0. It works on Dutch receipts and is tested on Albert Heijn and Dirk. Jumbo, Lidl, Plus, markets and other countries are untested. Testing on a real phone has just started, and it is not on the App Store or TestFlight. The source is available and free for personal use.
